Navy Career

In May 1989, I joined the South African Navy, and soon thereafter started Submarine School. In 1990 I joined the crew of SAS Johanna van der Merwe for my first stint at sea, and then on 31 July 1991 I qualified as a Submariner. Throughout my time with the submarine fleet I was lucky enough and honored to serve on all three Daphne Class submarines.
